Iris ‘Full Tide’
Tall Bearded IrisUSDA Zone: 3-9Plant number: 1.295.720
General DescriptionDreamy violet-blue frilled blooms are what distinguish 'Full Tide.' This tall bearded iris has large, six-petaled blooms with three frilly blue petals that curve upwards, called standards, and three that curve downwards, called falls. These are fragrant and have ivory beards at the base of each fall. Like all bearded iris, ‘Full Tide’ has sword-shaped, medium green leaves that are equitant, or fan-like, which are born from slow-spreading bulbous rhizomes.
This hybrid iris prefers full to part sun and rich soil with good drainage. Bearded irises make great cut-flowers and will help any old-fashioned garden shine!

Special Characteristics
Tall Bearded Iris are the giants of the late spring border, available in a rainbow of colours and blends to suit every colour scheme. Plants form a clump of green sword-shaped leaves, bearing upright stems with very large blooms. This selection has breezy, soft mid-blue, ruffled standards, beards and fuzzy beards. Early-Midseason. Excellent for cutting. Iris are heavy feeders, so plan to fertilize in early spring, and again in late summer. Plants should be divided every 3 to 4 years, in August. Be on the watch for Iris borer. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
